Creating a business database is a tough job.

In business to business sales you might find yourself thinking of buying email list or email database. It seems like the answer.

But the problem is that every B2B database online is not 100 % correct. Sometime up to 30 % of data is incorrect. And that’s because the people that own these data companies are reselling the same email lists to people all over the place.

Not to mention the SPAM traps around the internet. Basically every database pulls data from somewhere. It’s either websites or social networks like LinkedIn.

The problem is that most emails in these databases are incorrect, which results in massive bounce rates. This can get you to SPAM box easy.

Do you want to send 100k emails and end up in SPAM or even not get them delivered? Do you want to start a conversation or are you in transactional sales?

Cold email should be about relevance and value. Having 1000s emails will not help you with that. It will actually make it worse.

Is it better to send out 100 emails, knowing that all the emails are correct and they end up in your prospects inboxes? We see up to 30 % reply rates after some time.

That’s where you want to be.

The solution is either to pay an outsourced company to source data for you or do it manually.

Hire a VA for 4 dollars an hour, and let her have a linkedin sales navigator account. She can create database in a spreadsheet that is fresh and correct.

Buy 2 types of plugins — for finding emails and for verifying them.

This way you’ll be successful in cold emailing and it won’t feel like you’re spamming these people.
