We spend more time in email than any other application, so we need more from that software. PostBox tries to deliver a better and richer experience, and they mostly succeed!
Available for Windows and Mac, it is the Mac client that is most needed. Steve takes you on a tour of PostBox, bet you try it!

Are you still using this email client? What do you think of Airmail? I'm not a fan of Macs. I had one for work and was on the struggle bus, although I love my iPhone. Maybe you have videos on why you prefer it.

Ten bucks, WOW! That's going to bankrupt me.

How about an up to date review of whats out there? Some comparisons with some other email clients would be great.

Try more than 10 000 IMAP folders( make sure some of them are nested ) and see if you still can use mail.app. I never tried postbox in that regard, but Thunderbird does a wonderful job if you have some 50 000 folders or more.

Thunderbird kills it.. Hands down. I am a long term postbox user, but you simply cannot beat the flexibility of the Mozilla ecosystem. Postbox does a great job, but it falls short with integration when you figure in things like Office calendar, etc. It's wonderful for email, but I don't believe that it is a full replacement, especially since their lightning support is all but nothing.

Hi Steve , I have recently switched from apple mail to postbox. However ,whenever i try to copy any matter from numbers to postbox it changes its format completely .Can you suggest something ?

Postbox is a great E-Mail Client for Mac. The Integration with Lightning also works fine. To add a Google Calender use the Provider for Google Calendar. It's also possible to * integrate an iCloud calendar *, but it's a bit more complicated, You need the icloud php from muhlba91 on GitHub, which creates CalDAV-URLs, which you can enter in Lightning. All described here: http://iszene.com/thread-133955.html

Hi Steve, I took your advice and bought Postbox, so far I like it. For the life of me I can not make it default to show conversations as expanded and collapse as needed. The app comes in the reverse setup, but I would prefer to collapse only those I choose and have all show as expanded.
Have you found a way to do this?
I can do individual email threads, but I would like it to be default.
Thanks!

Great explanation. Those of us that don't have the software you pointed out features that give a person a reason to like the software. Very good. and it was not fast and I'm sure you could teach me more. does it have a color source so you can write emails in colors instead of just black? continually and not have to change it for each email you write?

I downloaded this a couple of nights ago expecting to have a bit of a play and then removing it. Wow was I wrong I love this app soooo much. Love all thew short cuts, love the appearance / layout, love all the functionality and the fact it integrates and plays with gmail (even down to applying labels you set up in gmail with a few keystrokes) perfectly.
Top drawer software. I have created a G+ community on it if anyone is using it and wants to join 🙂

Steve, what are your thoughts on Postbox now even though you made this video years ago? I like gmail but can't stand the appearance of it! Plus I don't think Postbox is available on mobile devices.
March 17th, 2021 at 2:57 pm
Great video! Do you know if it's possible to hyperlink an image in a signature in PostBox? Thank you.

Just trialled postbox 3 for Mac running Yosemite and frankly it's been a total mess. 1) refused to recognise Apple iCloud password 2) refused to recognise Gmail password. 3) having fixed these issues over several hours with no support or dedicated forum, all 4 accounts have suddenly lost their iMAP folders and gone off-line. No rhyme or reason and no error messages popping up. Try to fetch mail and it says there are no new messages on the server but in fact everything is offline so it wouldn't know! Have chcked all the so called fixes and still getting nowhere. One minute working, the next dead. I've just switched back to Apple mail and all accounts are live. By far the most annoying thing is that Postbox offers only paid support and no dedicated forum. Having wasted about 5 hours on it I'm well p'd off and won't bother with it again. Should just add – I'm a web designer by trade and have lots of email set up and support experience.

Steve, so are you still using postbox? You never answered below. Just came across your vid here….I am an Entourage fan for years (and still). It is my to do list. Way past due for upgrade. Trying to find the great integration that Entourage has: mail/contacts/calendar.

Excellent video Steve,
I recently migrated from Windows to Mac and biggest hurdle for me the Apple mail. I tried to instal Outlook for Mac, it didn't integrate well. I went back to Apple Mail but never got around to the things I use to in Outlook. One simple future is the search function. It is simply to limited and to rigid. You don't have options or range as in Outlook.
I have been looking for an alternative and found your video on PostBox compelling. Since you video was published in December 2012, I wonder if you have an update on how you feel about PostBox almost two years later.
Anxious to hear your thoughts
Thanks again for the great video.

Last week, I also migrated from Apple Mail to Postbox email client. However, I had idea about Apple Mail to Postbox data conversion process that’s why I preferred to use stellar mail converter which is compatible with Mac machine. With this utility, user can convert Apple Mail data into Outlook 2011 .RGE format.
