I sent a thank you note because they don't have to interview me, they can trash the application from the start. But they didn't.

I disagree. I think it sets a good example to send a brief and sincere thank you. Mentioning something discussed during the interview and reinterating your excitement. My point being on my job when I DO get a rare thank you email it feels really nice. My humble opinion. Thanks !

A thank you letter or email is absolutely retarded. Every time ive done it i have not got the job. NEVER will do it again…Waste of time and makes you look pathetic

This is common sense to me, I'm glad someone from HR said it. I had a 1.5 hr interview and said thank you at the end. Now leave HR to do their work, I don't think they need to be interrupted by thank you emails. You said thank you, so what? Thank you doesn't show your job skills, anyone can say thank you. How many times do you have to say it. You are just trying to get an emotional bias.

I wish I came across this earlier, I sent a thank you email ππππ I was told to give a call for a follow-up if I haven't heard from anyone in a couple of days. Nothing yet it's been a few days. My email was lame but I guess we'll see. Ugh.

Thank you for great content. An urgent question: I have sent a tailored thank you note (not generic, but also not detailed) a few hours after the interview(on a Friday). I was thinking to detail any additional info on a follow up email this week since recruiter ended first interview with a promise of second interview with the team. What do you say? Many thanks.

Actually, I landed my dream job and they told me one of the reasons they chose me was because I sent follow-up thank-you emails for both interviews.

It blows my mind that there are people who gave this video thumbs downs!! All she does here is giving a great and useful information (not to forget: it's FREE), and all you guys need is to like it or move on. Giving this kind of video (a useful informational video) a thumbs down is just CRUEL and it's almost a subtle bullying.
